Relative Pronouns, Parallel Structure, & Preposition

  I.        Relative Pronouns (Who, whom, which, that)
            Who           :
-          The man who speaks English very fluently is my brother.
-          Tedi who is the smartest kid in school is a good boy.
Whom/that :
-          The child whom his mother loves is eating in kitchen.
-          The persons that bake a cake for me is my good friend.
Which/that
-          The gun which was on the table was only a toy
-          The letter which came yesterday was from Maria
-          The glass that was full of lemonade is now empty
-          The dog that barked last night caught a thief who was running away

       II.      Parallel Structure / parallel construction
1.       I’m looking forward to either to attending Saturday’s wrestling match or to seeing it on closed-circuit television.
2.       Take my advice try to be neither first nor last in the lunch line.
3.       My best friend took me to a dance and a show.
4.       My dog not only likes to play fetch, but he also likes to chase cars.

      III.    Preposition
1.       I will see you on Monday.
2.       The movie starts at 6 p.m.
3.       There is a wasp in the room.
4.       The rabbit burrowed under the ground.

Phrasal verb:
1.       Go on = continue
-          Please, go on. Don't let me interrupt you.
2.       Put on = wear
-          Make sure you put on a sweater before you go outside.
3.       Call off = cancel something
-          They called the picnic off because of the rain.
4.       Talk over = discuss
                 -          I hope my parents talk their relationship problems over before they get divorced.
